Some people have asked us about the soil on the site and whether it is suitable for building. There are regions of Fuller's Earth (a very fine clay) in the area which can be harder to build on than bedrock. It is likely that some of the surrounding buildings are built on Fuller's Earth. To find out what the soil is like we have asked for a soil survey, and so this week there will be a digger on the field digging a trial hole to find out about the different soil types in the building area.
